Earlier this month, representatives from more than 700 local churches came together to officially kick off Esperanza Lima with Franklin Graham, an evangelistic Festival to be held next March in the Peruvian capital.
Pastors and local leaders celebrated the occasion with great joy and anticipation. Only 14% of the population in their country is evangelical Christian, and they’re praying that the rest of their city will hear about new life in Christ.
“We want to touch the heart of our city and our country and present Christ as the only hope of salvation, the only hope for a people as needy as ours,” shared Pastor Reynaldo Aragón of Iglesia Alianza Cristiana y Misionera in San Isidro.
Various denominations united for the Aug. 9 launch event, all for the sake of pointing people to God’s love and eternal life in Jesus Christ.
“Here we were presented with the challenge to go out and evangelize, to fulfill the Great Commission,” said Augusto Jaimes, senior pastor of Iglesia Bautista de la Alborada. “I am encouraged to be part of this—that the church may be able to mobilize and reach our neighbors with the message of the Gospel.”
The kickoff marks the beginning of a citywide evangelistic campaign that will conclude with the March 7, 2026, outreach, where Franklin Graham will share the Good News. The event is free for the whole family and includes live music by renowned Christian artists.
Iglesia Alianza Cristiana y Misionera, a church in central Lima, Peru, recently opened its doors to over 2,000 pastors and church leaders who were eager to launch an upcoming evangelistic event with Franklin Graham.
