A chaplain hugs a resident impacted by recent flooding.

Over Father's Day weekend in Ohio County, West Virginia, driving rain quickly turned into deadly flash floods and at least seven people were killed.

Chaplains are ministering in the county to offer emotional and spiritual aid to those whose lives have been shattered by natural disaster.

“We are heartbroken to see another mountain community devastated by the force of floodwaters. Our chaplains were in this same state earlier this year as Mingo County experienced similar [flooding],” said Josh Holland, international director of BG-RRT.

“The physical and emotional toll that survivors of this type of devastation endure can be overwhelming.”

Please pray that those who are hurting will come to understand the deep love and care of Jesus Christ—the only One who can bring peace in terrible situations.
