Laughing children and shade-seeking adults filled the grounds of the Billy Graham Library on Saturday for a day full of family-friendly activities that had one focus—God’s loving gift of His only Son, Jesus Christ.
KidzFest drew nearly 1,200 people to the Library to enjoy Gospel-focused crafts, inflatables, games, and an indoor program featuring high-energy worship led by Central Student Ministries. An interactive video presentation also helped children and their parents see that following Jesus Christ means saying “no” to sinful choices and “yes” to Jesus who is “the way, and the truth, and the life” (John 14:6, ESV).
When guests were invited to respond to the Good News, 4-year-old Sophia prayed to accept Christ then beamed with joy as she exclaimed, “I say yes to Jesus!” Her mother, Isabella, said the video reminded her that the choices she makes affect the whole family.
“I need to be a good example to my children,” she said. “I can’t just read my Bible, but I need to live it.” Her husband agreed, pointing to himself as well.
Children received discipleship booklets with “Jesus Loves Me” on the front, filled with Biblical encouragement and practical reminders of what they learned about the Gospel.
Many of the families who attended also went through the Library’s Journey of Faith tour, which details the life of Billy Graham and the message he preached around the world for over seven decades.
Nicole took her grandchildren through the tour, and at the end, two of them spent some time in the Library’s prayer room. Nicole joyfully watched as 11-year-old David and 13-year-old Joel reaffirmed their commitment to live for Jesus Christ.
Afterward, she shared with a Library staff member that as a young girl, she watched Billy Graham Crusades on television. “And now this!” she said excitedly. “This whole place is just filled with truth.”
