On May 16, more than 20 tornadoes tore through parts of Kentucky and Missouri, killing at least 27 people—including two in Virginia—injuring dozens more, and cutting off power to tens of thousands of residents.
“Pray for families who lost loved ones, for emergency responders, and for protection as more severe storms are expected,” Franklin Graham said on social media.
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains deployed to offer emotional and spiritual care in the wake of this harrowing disaster.
“Thousands of people across the mid-South have been impacted by the deadly tornadoes that hit overnight,” said Josh Holland, international director of BG-RRT. “The road to recovery will be long, but we want these communities to know they are not alone.”
Crisis-trained chaplains are in St. Louis, Missouri, and London, Kentucky, to support locals as they cope with sudden destruction and loss.
Please pray for those who are grieving massive loss, and for chaplains who are ministering alongside these devastated communities.
